Modern Foreign Literature and Modern Languages (MLIT)

MLIT 100. Introduction to Modern Languages and Literatures. 1 Unit.

This course introduces students to the faculty, areas of research, courses, and interdisciplinary programs housed in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures (DMLL). Students will gain insight into the different languages offered by DMLL and learn about the cultures explored in our content-based courses. The course will also address the different pedagogical approaches that guide our faculty. Class sessions will demonstrate how learning a second language is beneficial to other areas of cognitive and intellectual development, including skills necessary for STEM-based study and post-graduate professional career paths.
