Department of Economics

The Economics Department is a center for sophisticated research and teaching in applied microeconomics, management, and public policy. Our research and teaching specialties include health care, the labor market, entrepreneurship, public economics, behavioral economics, economic history, organizations, and technological change.

Our faculty combine insights from modern economic theory with a close study of institutional detail, including novel sources of data such as administrative records and cooperative experiments with firms or governments, to answer questions important to public policy and understanding how economies work. The department strives to cultivate a stimulating intellectual community for both students and faculty.
