Senior Year in Professional Studies (SYPS)

SYPS 1. Senior Year in Professional Studies at the CWRU School of Medicine. 0 Unit.

Students of outstanding ability and attainment who are candidates for the BA and who are admitted to professional studies at Case Western Reserve University by the end of the junior year are offered an opportunity to shorten their entire course of studies by one year through the Senior Year in Professional Studies privilege. Application should be made during the second semester of the junior year through the Office of Undergraduate Studies. This privilege is extended to students who are candidates for the BA and who attend the School of Medicine. A student granted the senior year in professional studies privilege is permitted to substitute the work of the first year in a professional school for that required during the last year as an undergraduate. Upon the satisfactory completion of the first year's work in the professional school, the student will be granted the bachelor's degree from the College of Arts and Sciences. Prereq: Admitted to the Senior Year in Professional Studies Program at the CWRU School of Medicine.

SYPS 10. Senior Year in Professional Studies at the CWRU School of Law. 0 Unit.

Students of superior ability and attainment who are candidates for the B.A. and who are admitted to professional studies in Case by the end of the junior year are offered an opportunity to shorten their entire course of studies by one year through the Senior Year in Professional Studies privilege. Application should be made during the second semester of the junior year through the Dean of Undergraduate Studies. This privilege is extended to students who are candidates for the B.A. and who attend the CWRU School of Law. A student granted the senior year in professional studies privilege is permitted to substitute the work of the first year in a professional school for that required during the last year in the undergraduate college. Upon the satisfactory completion of the first year's work in the professional school, the student will be granted the bachelor's degree from the College of Arts and Sciences. SYPS 300. Senior Year in Professional Studies: Law. 1 - 30 Units.

Credit awarded to a student in Senior Year in Professional Studies at the CWRU School of Law. Credit awarded will equal the amount of credits earned by the student during their first two semesters of enrollment at the professional school, but will not exceed 15 credit hours per semester. A maximum of 30 credit hours may be awarded over the two semesters of enrollment. Credit will be awarded at the end of each term upon successful completion of courses at the professional school.

SYPS 310. Senior Year in Professional Studies: Dental Medicine. 1 - 30 Units.

Credit awarded to a student in Senior Year in Professional Studies at the CWRU School of Dental Medicine. Credit awarded will equal the amount of credits earned by the student during their first two semesters of enrollment at the professional school, but will not exceed 15 credit hours per semester.
