Program Overview

This dual degree program allows students to prepare students for careers as patent agents working in the area of biotechnology. The MA in Patent Practice prepares students for the patent bar exam with in-depth courses. The MS in Biochemistry provides a solid grounding in cutting-edge biological science and biotechnology, along with an introduction to the biotechnology industry. The dual degree program allows students to finish the dual degree in three or four semesters, earning a total of 46 credit hours, instead of the 66 credit hours that would be required for two separate degrees.

The dual degree program draws on the strengths of School of Law and the Department of Biochemistry in the School of Medicine. As a result, students are immersed in the vibrant learning environment of both degree programs.
